Location

Test Valley, the ideal location to make your mark.

Test Valley Borough Council occupies a major part of western Hampshire.  In geographical terms, it is a predominantly rural borough covering 245 square miles of contrasting landscapes providing high quality natural and built environments, with some 36 conservation areas and 2500 listed buildings. The census of 2001 showed the population of the Borough as 109, 760 but the figure is projected to increase by around 14% by 2020 (Hampshire County Council projections). Around half of the population lives in the two market towns - Romsey in the south and Andover in the north. The remainder of the population lives in smaller settlements spread across the rest of the Borough.

Test Valley is a generally affluent area, but we do have pockets of deprivation and average incomes are lower than those regionally and nationally. In contrast, average house prices are higher than those nationally and crime rates are amongst the lowest in the country.

Where will you be working?

We have offices at Andover and Romsey ; whilst you will be based in Andover, regular attendance at both locations will be required.
